Utility
System Modelling using ProSteam®
1
day 21st April 2008
- £705.00
(inc. VAT)
Learn
how to improve operational and investment
decisions by determining the true
marginal cost impact of changes to utility
system operation and configuration. Utility
system modelling is a powerful tool for
reducing utility costs. It can also be
applied hand-in-hand with pinch technology
to provide a comprehensive analysis of
opportunities for cost reduction through
improved integration of processes and
utilities.
- Reduce
utility costs
- Assess
utility improvements
- Improve
energy contract management
- Reduce
and accurately report emissions
- Improve
utility cost accounting
Introduction
to Pinch Analysis

£1057.50
(inc.
VAT)
Learn
the fundamental concepts of pinch technology
and how they can be applied to reduce energy
and capital costs, increase capacity and
reduce emissions. It is appropriate for
engineers or technical managers who wish to
gain an understanding of how to achieve
process energy efficiency improvements.
- Reduce
energy costs
- Remove
energy bottlenecks
- Avoid
or reduce capital expenditure
- Lower
emissions
Pinch
Analysis applications using
SuperTarget®
1
day 24th April 2008 -
£705.00 (inc.
VAT)
Learn
how to apply Pinch Analysis in retrofit
targeting and heat exchanger network design.
This one-day seminar will teach you
to use Linnhoff March’s SuperTarget6
software to identify improvements in
existing heat exchanger networks. The
seminar is appropriate for engineers wishing
to build on the lessons learnt in the
introductory course, as well as clients who
have, or are considering, a SuperTarget
licence.

Overview
In the early days of pinch technology, the
main emphasis was on heat exchanger network
design. Today, pinch technology stretches
far wider in the fields of overall process
improvement and utility system design. The
key contribution of the technology is its
ability to scope and screen important alternatives
for seemingly complex (re)design projects
easily and accurately.
The
objective of Linnhoff March's pinch foundation
training course is to provide training in
practical methodology for process improvements
using pinch technology. The course provides
basic concepts, practical methods that have
emerged out of project applications, and
hands-on training in the use of SuperTarget,
Linnhoff March's pinch
technology software. The course is meant
for practising engineers in process design
and development. It is also relevant for
those working on utility system design,
site planning and/or operations support.
The
development of the technology and the training
course material goes back more than twenty
years to the original work by Professor
Bodo. Linnhoff and co-workers. Since then,
the training course material has undergone
many updates to keep pace with the technology,
project methodologies, and experience.
We
are confident that you will find this
course
the ideal way to become familiar with pinch
technology and with all that Linnhoff March
has to offer you in terms of experience
and tools.
